COACHING

Ramside Golf Club has three golf teaching professionals and provides golf coaching to players of all abilities.

Our driving range is currently closed; however, tuition will still be available. Our instructors will be conducting lessons on the course and practice zones.

Phil Redpath - Resident PGA Professional

Phil is our PGA Class AA Professional. After turning Professional at 18, he juggled playing tournaments with a career in Coaching- the latter saw him work at golf clubs in countries such as Qatar and the UAE, adding to his knowledge and shaped his approach to coaching.

Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, Phil has over 14 years of experience coaching at various clubs around the world. Having moved closer to home in 2018 he is now based here at Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa in County Durham.

Offering private one on one coaching sessions, bespoke corporate clinics covering different skills each time, a thriving Junior Academy and many more services.

Robert Lister - Golf Coach

Robert Lister has more than 30 years’ experience coaching golf at every level of the sport. Robert served as a PGA Professional at clubs in Barnsley, Huddersfield, Darlington and Austria before becoming Ramside Golf Club’s inaugural Head PGA Golf Professional in 1996. Robert’s skills as a coach have seen him work with elite amateurs, including the Durham County Golf Union Men’s Squad, and as an area leader for the Golf Foundation.

Robert Scully - Golf Coach

Robert Scully has been in the golf industry for 10 years. Since becoming a PGA Professional, Rob has had experience working in private golf clubs such at Effingham, Hindhead and most recently Royal Ascot. Now at Ramside Hall, Rob will be providing his bespoke approach to coaching using video analysis, training aids and lesson evaluations. Coaching sessions available on Friday's and Saturday's, with any further request being made via email to rscullypga@gmail.com.

Our two 18-hole championship golf courses, the Prince Bishops' and the Cathedral, provide drama, enjoyment and excitement from the first tee to the final green.

Spa Use

Guest's staying with us have access to our brand new Spa facilities, which includes use of our 25m Swimming Pool and state of the art gym, Check-in - Check-out.

Upgrade your stay to include full use of the Spa facilities, including the thermal experience rooms and hydrotherapy pool, purchase a Spa Pass for £30 per person or £50 per couple Per Day.

Golf Course Dress Code:
Dress must be in keeping with golf course tradition.
Men – Golfing Trousers, tailored shorts, shirts with sleeves and collars. No denim jeans. No board or athletic shorts. No sweatpants.
Women – Sport shirts, tailored shorts, skirts, trousers, skorts. Shirts must have a collar. No denim jeans. No sweatpants.
Soft spike golf shoes must be worn.

Clubhouse Lounge Dress Code:
Smart clothing including jeans.
No muddied or wet clothing
No football shirts
No vests
Clean golf shoes only

Non-members are welcome to use the Top Tracer driving range but the chipping, putting and short game facilities are only available to Ramside Golf Club members and golf course visitors.
